find out things about your child which should be encouraged and things which
should be discouraged. You will find out what challenges the child faces on a
daily basis and you will prayerfully empower the child to overcome these
challenges. Trust in God Pray for your child always. Investigate the school
before you send your child to any school. While in school, find out as much as
possible about the school. Take a look at the products of the school and
determine if that is what you want your child to turn out to be. Find out if
your child is learning daily. Ask questions. Encourage the child to show and
demonstrate that he or she is learning. Challenge the child with greater goals
and appreciate little successes. Encourage the child to work hard and not to be
discouraged by temporary setbacks. When you child fails, do not be too sad. Do
not punish him for failing. Find out why he failed. Encourage him to pass the
next time. Work on his weaknesses. Give him self-confidence, self-worth,
self-esteem. When your child does the
wrong thing, correct him in love. Teach the child how to be careful. Teach the

on your child. Be patient with your child. Give your child a balanced diet. Try
to understand your child. Explain things to your child in the way the child
will understand. Children are inquisitive. Encourage your child by answering
his questions satisfactorily. Be truthful to your child. Teach your child

Toys
The are different types of toys. There are toys that
encourage the development of the child, there are toys that are addictive and
make the child dull, passive and introspective. Be wise as you choose toys for
your children. Choose toys that will stimulate your child intellectually and
teach your child some basic skills which will help the child in life. Jig saw
puzzles, cross word puzzles, lego, building blocks, Scrabbles, abacus, and
other toys and teaching aids will help your child.
Recreation
Children have a lot of energy. This energy should be
harnessed properly for the overall good of all. Take the children out once in a
while to play. Outdoor games are good for their physical development. Spend
time with the children. Take then to parks, post offices, banks, shops,
churches and other places. This will help them to learn how to relate to adults
outdoors. This will also help them to learn how to cope with the larger
society. This will also teach them how the society functions. When you are with
the child you provide the child with a protection that is associated with your
presence. The tender child needs that protection as he develops to an adult.
Even the cub needs the lion to develop to adult life. Give your child the best
you have to offer as a parent. The child needs your time more than your money.
If you give your child your time, you will not need much money for the child’s
upbringing. When you spend time with your child, any money spent subsequently
is money well spent. If you do not spend time with your child, Money spent is a
waste and any activity subsequently will result in failure and a wasted effort except
where God intervenes to reverse the down ward spiral. Someone has to be there
for the child. The person who spends the most time with the child influences
the child most. Pray today for your child. Your child is a precious from God
Take good care of your child and you will be happy you did.
