Temptation and Baptism of Jesus Christ

Temptation and Baptism of Jesus Christ

Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist
Jesus humbled Himself and came to John

The Baptism

Baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward conviction.

When you believe it is in your heart. When you are baptized it is in the open.

John’s baptism at the time was for remission of sin ie signified washing away or cleansing. Hence he warned them to repent and forsake their old ways. It was a demonstrative indication of a strong conviction and determination to make amends and stop any bad past deed and knowing that the merciful God will forgive.

Now baptism demonstrates that we now partake in the death and resurrection from the dead of our Lord Jesus Christ who by the shedding of His blood we are saved. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.

You are baptized as a Christian showing the world that you believe in a risen Christ who died for you and I

He died and was buried and rose again.

AFTER BAPTISM CAME TEMPTATION

When you declare for Jesus Christ, you will be tested and tempted. If you are sincere in your Christianity you will stand and overcome and be victorious.

When you become a Christian, there is temptation.

Jesus was tempted.

The saints overcome by the words of their testimony. What is your testimony?

Jesus is Lord. Is Jesus the Lord of your life?
Invite Jesus Christ today into your life and He will give you a testimony.

Read your Bible.

Be careful about food. Sometimes when you are hungry, do not eat or do not eat very much;

Or if you want something very much eg. Cake or biscuit, leave it.
God will use this to teach you how to say NO when you are tempted using those things. Then you know that you can do without them.

Do not just do things because they are possible or can be done. Know the will of God and seek to please God in all you do.

Be careful when people are giving you things. Be careful when people are offering you things. They may not tell you why they are making you the offer.

God is able to supply all your needs according to His reaches in glory.

Temptation will come. With God you will overcome.

Have Jesus Christ in your heart.

Those things you like and desire and want and need or think you need, once in a while, ignore them and do without them.

By so doing God will strengthen you. If you are tempted by them or with them you will not fall.

Jesus was hungry when he was tempted.

Hunger is not sin.

Do not do anything bad because of your condition or circumstances. Trust in God. Jesus Christ will take good care of you. Trust Him.

Jesus Christ did not sin even though He was hungry.

You can say NO to sin and you can say YES to righteousness

Spend all your time doing good things and you will have no time to do bad things.

You can only think of one thing at a time,

If all the time you think you only think of Godly things and good things, you will have no time to think or do evil things.

Remember God. Let your ways please the Lord. There is no excuse for sin. Anything you do is what you want to do.
When the devil Left from tempting Jesus Christ, angels came and ministered unto Him.

Let God, angels and the Holy Spirit Minister unto you.

Keep company with God and Jesus Christ.

Do not put your mind too much on earthly things. They will perish with the using.
