Jesus Christ Went Up To Heaven

Acts 1 : 1 – 12

Luke wrote the Gospel of Luke and Acts of the Apostles

Vs 1 This verse makes us to understand that Jesus began both to do and teach. It is important to note that Jesus Christ not only teaches but also does the right. We should learn from that and do and teach what is right always.

Vs 2 gave commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen. If we are children of God we have to be prepared  to receive directives, instructions and commandments from Him. Those who are chosen by God are given commandments and they obey Him.

Vs 3 This verse indicates that Jesus is alive. For 40day He appeared to many people to demonstrate that Jesus is alive.   He talked about the Kingdom of God.

Vs4 He assembled together with them and commanded them that they should not depart from from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father.

Be patient with God.

God gives commandments to His children and they obey. Please Obey the commandments of God.  God will bless you as you do so and for doing so and when you obey Him. Be patient as you obey God. Do not depart from the presence of God. Wait for the promise of the Father

Vs5 You shall be baptized with the holy Ghost not many days from hence. The promise of God can only be received by those who obey Him who trust Him who believe in Him. Those who are receptive. He prepares you properly and delivers His promises and Blessings to the glory of His Holy Name.

Vs8 You shall receive Power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me. He was taken up and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

God gives you Power to do good. You need Power to do good goodly work in a godly way to be acceptable to God. The Holy Ghost is given to you and to all those who believe in our Lord Jesus Christ for this purpose.

Vs10 While they looked steadfastly towards heaven, as He went up behold two men stood by them in white apparel.

Vs11 This same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.

Jesus Christ ascended  into heaven and will come again the same way. Jesus Christ is coming soon. Be ready to meet Him. Do not worry you will meet Him either as your JUDGE or your SAVIOUR the choice is yours.  Accept Jesus today as your Lord and Saviour and you shall be saved, you and your house hold.

Vs12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet. A Sabath day’s Journey from Jerusalem.

LESSON

Jesus is coming back in like manner and soon too. Be ye ready. Prepare to meet God. We have hope and salvation if we believe in Him. The Disciples obeyed when he gave them commandments. Are you His disciple, then He will give you commandments and instructions. Make sure you obey Him and make sure the instructions and commandments are coming from Him. Put every teaching to the test to know if it is of God. Put every spirit to the test to know if it is the Spirit of God. Everybody or Spirit that is of God and from God will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and that Jesus Christ died for our sins and is risen and ascended into heaven and is sited at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

He gives commandments to His disciples.

Be at your duty post. Where is your duty post. If you do not know, Pray and ask God. Your duty post is where God wants you to be at any given time. It may not be where you want to be. It may not be pleasant to the flesh. It may not be exciting or interesting. Do not worry God will be there waiting for you. God will keep you company God’ will; will be done always.

Obey God. The finished work of salvation on the cross has brought us forgiveness of sins, salvation, sanctification and justification.   

Jesus died for our sins therefore we are forgiven and are saved. He is risen from the dead and has led captivity captive that even in the grave Jesus is Lord. Because He lives I can face tomorrow and all fear is gone. God is Love and perfect Love casts out fear. God is perfect. God is just. God is Holy. God is merciful.

He has ascended into heaven that where He is there we may be also. Our life on earth here is set apart for Christ Jesus for we are sanctified. We are purchased with the precious blood of Jesus Christ. He has paid the price for our sins. He paid the ransom for our sins and we are now free. We are justified. We are now right with God. The bible says “When I see the blood I will pass over you” God sees Jesus Christ in you and treats you accordingly. That is why we are called the sons of God. Behold what manner of Love the father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God.
