Luke Chapter 19: Jesus Drives the Buyers and Sellers out of the Temple
Jesus Drives the Buyers and Sellers out of the Temple
Luke 19:45-46
1 And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho.

2 And, behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich.

3 And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature.

4 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way.

5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

6 And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully.

7 And when they saw it, they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.

8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

Luke Chapter 19: Zacchaeus the Publican
Zacchaeus the Publican
Luke Chapter 19 : 1
15 And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

16 Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

18 And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.

19 And he said likewise to him, Be thou also over five cities.

20 And another came, saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin:

21 For I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sow.

22 And he saith unto him, Out of thine own mouth will I judge thee, thou wicked servant. Thou knewest that I was an austere man, taking up that I laid not down, and reaping that I did not sow:

23 Wherefore then gavest not thou my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required mine own with usury?

24 And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that hath ten pounds.

25 (And they said unto him, Lord, he hath ten pounds.)

26 For I say unto you, That unto every one which hath shall be given; and from him that hath not, even that he hath shall be taken away from him.

27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.

28 And when he had thus spoken, he went before, ascending up to Jerusalem.

29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.

31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.

32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.

36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,

42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,

44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;

46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,

48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very attentive to hear him.

What is your occupation?
What keeps you busy?
What are you occupied with?
What are you focused on?
What is taking your time?
An idle mind is the devil's workshop.
Thy word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against thee.
Who and what sets the agenda for you?
Who and what determins what you do at any given time?
Are you proactive or reactive?
Why do you do things?
Whose report do you believe?
We will believe the report of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The mind is the battle ground.
The question is;
Who gets your attention?
Who controls your attention?
God wants you to be attentive to Him.

When you believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Spirit of God occupies you; ie comes into you and preoccupies you.{God comes into you lives in you stays in you stays with you all the time and keeps you busy ie. tells you what to do. HE lives in you and He lives in me. Ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart today and stay}
God gets your attention and keeps you busy.

The Spirit of God keeps you busy. The Spirit of God gets your attention and makes you to focus on it. This is a voluntry focus.

That is why you have to willingly accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and saviour.
When you accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, He gives you the Power, the ability and capacity and willingness to set the tone for your everyday activity.; having occupied your heart and mind. The Holy Ghost directs your actions according to the will of God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

You cannot do what you do not know unless you are under the another's influence. When you believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, your imaginations, thoughts and actions are occupied by the Holy Ghost. Anything that is not of God is not allowed. Negative and inpure thoughts are removed and replaced by Godly clean, positive, holy and good thoughts; which leads to righteousness ie good actions.

The blood of Jesus Christ speaketh better things than the blood of Ebel and the blood of bulls and rams.

The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness.

When I, see the blood
When I, see the blood
When I, see the blood
I will pass, I will pass ; over you.

We are washed,
In the blood

Are you washed?
We are washed,
In the blood;

In the precious blood of the Lamb

Are your garments sparkling, are they white as snow ?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Jesus Christ is the Lamb that was slain.
Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world.
Jesus Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain.
Jesus Christ is our passover.
Jesus

CURIOSITY

When there is a strong desire to investigate a matter, one is at risk of getting exposed to unpredictable and unpredicted and unexpected influences. Under such circumstances, you must be sober and vigilant to overcome any temptation.

The Holy Ghost helps us to be sober all the time and to tame our desires. The Holy Spirit helps us to control our bodies. The Holy Spirit helps us to control the flesh and to make the Spirit control the flesh.

Remember that God made everything and everything that God made is good. When you have the Holy Ghost; the Holy Ghost will let you know what holy things God wants you to do and how He wants us to use the things He made properly.

Jesus Christ is Lord.

When you misuse the things of God; When you disobey the instructions , laws and commandments of God, then that is sin. ie. sin occurs.

The flesh is weak and unreliable. The flesh fails. Sometimes, we fail to remember things. At other times, we fail to do things properly. The Spirit of God can not fail.

When we rely on the Spirit of God, success is assured.

WHEN YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, TAKE CORRECTION AND MOVE FORWARD

WHEN YOU MAKE A MISTAKE, TAKE CORRECTION AND MOVE FORWARD.

When you make a mistake, move forward.

Do not focus on your mistakes.
Do not dwell in the past.
 Do not stay there.

Rise up and walk away from the past .

Rise up and walk
Rise up and shine.
Rise up and walk into the future with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Remember that the Spirit of God prompts you when you make a mistake so that you take correction.

Deliberately do the right thing.

Think God and do good.

Think good thoughts and do good things.

Let your heart be stayed in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Do not give occasion for the flesh to influence you

HOLINESS

HOLINESS

HOLINESS is not an event in the life of a Christian.
Holiness is the very life the Christian lives.

The Christian is holy in all things he or she does, thinks or says  always.

This is because his holiness is of God that changest not.  Jesus Christ is our righteousness.

When you learn to dwell in the presence of the Lord continually, you are transformed into his likeness. When you learn to pray without ceasing and commune with our Lord Jesus Christ, you take on His nature. Peter walked on the sea so long as his eyes were stayed on Jesus Christ. Do the same and you will get the same result.

The Bible says, dwell in the presence of the Lord continually. Pray without ceasing.

The Lord wants you to be restored to HIM. When you become a part of HIM again, He will restore to you the joy of your salvation.

Salvation brings joy.

When you remember the things of the Lord it brings joy. Make a habit of remembering God and Godliness in all things and at all times and you shall rejoice all day long.

Do good when you have the opportunity. If God gives you another opportunity, do good again.

Cultivate the habit of thinking good thoughts.

Spend quality time with God. Cultivate the mind of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let this mind be in you; which was in Christ Jesus. Be humble. Be obedient to the word of God. Believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.

JOY:

Rejoice in the Lord and again I say rejoice.

From the habit of having a pleasant disposition.

Learn to rejoice al all times.

Be joyful and thankful to God; and God will surprise you and keep you ever joyful and thankful all the days of your life. God will make sure that there is always something to be joyful and thankful about.

In all circumstances there is something to be thankful to God about.

There is always something to rejoice about.

Ask God to let you know what you should rejoice about and what you should thank Him for .

Remember that Lazarus died and Jesus Christ spent three more days after He was told; that the name of God the Father may be glorified.  Mary cried and Jesus Christ wept; Lazarus rose from the dead and all rejoiced.

Again remember that Jesus Christ died on Good Friday and after three days He rose again from the dead.

W are saved because Jesus Christ paid the price.

Jesus Christ said

My peace I give unto you.
My joy i give unto you.
That your joy may remain.

My love i give to you.

I have loved you with an everlasting love and loving kindness.

This is the Lord and saviour we have in our Lord Jesus Christ who bore our infirmities and  who nailed our sins to the cross and has clothed us with a garment of righteousness that you and I may be saved now and always.

People are in bondage.

People are perishing daily.

Live a life worthy of His calling.
Live a life worthy of emulation.

Believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.

show good example.

May the peace of the Lord be with you. Amen.

THY WORD HAVEI HIDDEN IN MY HEART THAT I MAY NOT SIN AGAINST THEE

THY WORD HAVE I HIDDEN IN MY HEART THAT I MAY NOT SIN AGAINST THEE

The word of God is powerful. Meditate on it day and night. Speak the word of God. Think the word of God. Meditate on it day and night. Obey the word of God. Do the word of God. ie. Do what the word of God says and commands.

God watches over His words and promises to perform it and bring it to pass.

WHEN TEMPTATION COMES

Pray, Praise, Obey.

Speak the word of God.

Let your mind be stayed in Jesus Christ.

Acknowledge the presence of God
Occupy till I come says the Lord.
God is everywhere all the time.

Acknowledge God as your God and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour offered freely for us.

The Spirit of God has been given to as many as believe in our Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation.

We shall overcome by the words of our testimonies. Let us speak the word of God boldly.

The Bible says fear not. Do not be afraid.
The Bible says I am with you even to the end of this world.
These are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The word of God is sharper than two edged sword. Dividing asunder soul and spirit.

The word of is a Lamp unto my feet.
Thy word instructs the meek and ministers grace to the humble.

We need the sincere word of God to grow.

The letter killeth but the spirit giveth life.

God the Father, God the Son {Jesus Christ} and God the Spirit {The Holy Ghost} are one.

Man is made in the image of God.

Man has a body, a soul and a spirit.

The soul of man lives on in heaven or hell.

The body is matter and stays on earth.

The spirit returns to God.

The spirit drives the body ie. controls the body.

The spirit of Man is subject to the man.

The spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet.

Man is free to allow or reject control from the spirit.

There are many spirits such as the HOLY SPIRIT; It controls and directs you aright; If you do not allow it, it wount.

When you allow the HOLY SPIRIT, it quickens your motal bodies and give you life.

It gives you the power to become a child of God. It gives you the power to overcome sin and live a righteous life.

THE HOLY SPIRIT helps you and makes it possible for you to please God.
The HOLY SPIRIT helps you to overcome temptation.

The HOLY SPIRIT helps you to take the right decisions that leads to the right actions. This does not depend on what you do or have done. It depends on what you believe and what you have allowed.

The spirit you allow to control you determins the nature and limit and result of your action.
Today is the day of salvation.

Believe in our LORD JESUS CHRIST today and you shall receive the HOLY SPIRIT..

God will give you POWER to become a child of GOD and you will live like a child of GOD with the POWER of GOD to do the things of GOD which please GOD ie. GODDLY things and holy things and righteous things, in righteousness and holyness through Jesus Christ our Lord.

King James Version: John Chapter 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.
31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
32 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.
33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
34 And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.
35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;
36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.
38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?
39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.
40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.
42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.
43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE WANT TO PLEASE GOD

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE WANT TO PLEASE GOD?

To please God, we have to do just what God wants.

This could be easy or difficult depending on where you stand.

If you are on the Lord's side, He is already pleased with you so you do not really need any additional effort to do so.

Just as He that is down needs fear no fall,
and He that is low no pride;
and
He that is humble ever shall have God to be his guide

and

have God on his side.

If you are not on the Lord's side, then
how can you please Him? You have it all to do.

When you are on the Lord's side, it is easy to allign your desires with His.

It is easy to use His resources to do His will.

It is easy to do what He says because your desires are the same as His.

You have a lot in common and you have the same objective in view.

Since this is the case, How can one be on the Lord's side?

This is made possible when you believe in our Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work at Calvary on the cross where He died so that we may live;
and
rose again to give us  life everlasting.

When we believe we get Power  from Him to become Children of God.

Children of God have what it takes to please God. (HIM)

Let us believe sincerely and be sincere in our believe. Thank you and God bless you.

John Chapter 15

1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

John Chapter 15: The Vine and the Branches
The Vine and the Branches
John Chapter 15 : 5
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN

JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN

MATTHEW 28

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.   And, behold, there was a great earthquake:  for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.   His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:  And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.   And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye:  for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.   He is not here:  for he is risen, as he said.   Come, see the place where the Lord lay.   And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead;  and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee;  there shall ye see him:  lo, I have told you.   And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy;  and did run to bring his disciples word.   And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail.   And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.   10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid:  go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.   12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, 13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.   14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.   15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught:  and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.   17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him:  but some doubted.   18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.   19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:  and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.   Amen.

LET US STUDY HEBREW CHAPTER 12 TOGETHER TODAY

Hebrews 12

King James Version (KJV)

12 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

29 For our God is a consuming fire.

THE JOY OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IS MY STRENGTH

James 1

King James Version (KJV)

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

JAMES CHAPTER 1

VS 1 JAMES SEES AND CALLS HIMSELF A SERVANT OF GOD AND OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND SEND GREETING. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF HUMILITY. CHRISTIANS ARE HUMBLE.
VS 2 HE CALLS THEM BRETHREN. THIS IS A SHOW OF RESPECT AND AFFECTION. HE THEN ADDRESSES THE ISSUE OF TEMTATIONS. TEMPTATIONS ARE FACTS OF LIFE. YOUR RESPONSE TO THEM DEPENDS ON YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IN CHRIST BY FAITH WHO GIVES YOU KNOWLEDGE AND POWER TO OVERCOME TEMPTATION.
HE SHOWS THAT ALTHOUGH TEMPTATION IS NOT PLEASANT, WE CAN REJOICE IN TRIBULATION WHEN WE HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING THAT ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD FOR THOSE WHO LOVE GOD. THE STATEMENT “COUNT IT ALL JOY” MEANS THAT THE ATTITUDE OF THE CHRISTIAN WHEN FACED WITH TEMPTATION IS TO REJOICE. THIS IS THE JOY OF AN ANTICIPATED VICTORY IN CHRIST JESUS. THIS IS EXERCISING YOUR FAITH. WHEN YOU FOCUS IN THE FACT THAT YOU ARE BEING TEMPTED BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE IN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. THAT MEANS THAT YOUR CHRISTIANITY IS SINCERE AND THE GOD OF TRUTH WILL STAND BY YOU AND STRENGTHEN YOU THAT YOU MAY BE A PILLAR AND ABLE TO STAND AND STRENGTHEN OTHERS IN THE DAY OF TRIBULATION.  REMEMBER THE WAY TO STAND IS TO HUMBLE YOURSELF BEFORE GOD AND TO BELIEVE IN THE FINISHED WORK OF SALVATION IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD.
VS 3 THE PURPOSE OF THE TRYING OF THE FAITH OF A CHRISTIAN IS THAT IT WORKETH PATIENCE. THIS SHOULD GLADEN OUR HEART. WHEN YOU SET YOUR EYES ON THE GOAL SET BEFORE YOU IT IS EASIER TO CARRY OUT THE TASK AT HAND WITH JOY.
VS 4 LET PATIENCE HAVE HER PERFECT WORK, THAT YE MAY BE PERFECT AND ENTIRE, WANTING NOTHING. THESE TEMPTATIONS AND TRIALS ARE USED TO MAKE YOU BETTER. FIRST YOU LEARN PATIENCE. IN PATIENCE, YOU PATIENTLY ALLOW GOD TO MAKE YOU PERFECT.  WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN TO A PATIENT UNDERGOING SURGERY WHO DECIEDES TO WALK AWAY FROM THE OPERATING ROOM SIMPLY BECAUSE THE OPERATION WAS TAKING TOO LONG. PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE . YOU LEARN PATIENCE BY BEING PATIENT.
JESUS CHRIST IS THE STANDARD. THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS A LIFE OF TRUST AND OBEDIENCE. YOU JUST HAVE TO TRUST GOD AND OBEY HIM. YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT GOD NEVER FAILS AND HE WILL SURELY DELIVER ALL THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM.
VS 5 WISDOM IS IMPORTANT . IF ANY OF YOU LACK WISDOM, LET HIM ASK GOD, THAT GIVETH TO ALL MEN LIBERALLY, AND UPBRAIDETH NOT; AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN HIM.

GOD GIVES WISDOM. LET US LEARN TO ASK GOD FOR WISDOM.
VS 6 LET US ASK IN FAITH. WHEN YOU ASK IN FAITH, YOU HAVE NO DOUBT. YOU simply patiently wait for the promise.  SINCE WE KNOW THAT GOD WILL NEVER FAIL; WE SHOULD NEVER WAVER. WHEN YOU ARE STEADFAST IN YOUR FAITH IN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, YOU WILL INHERIT THE PROMIS THROUGH FAITH.

VS 7, 8 A DOUBLE MINDED MAN IS UNSTABLE IN ALL HIS WAYS.

VS 9 LET THE BROTHER OF LOW DEGREE REJOICE IN THAT HE IS EXALTED.
VS 10 BUT THE RICH, IN THAT HE IS MADE LOW

THIS MEANS THAT GOD KNOWS WHAT YOU NEED TO GET TO HEAVEN. IF YOU NEED TO BE HUMBLE, HE WILL MAKE YOU HUMBLE, IF YOU NEED STRENGTH AND CAURAGE HE WILL STENGTHEN YOU AND SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS REACHES IN GLORY.

VS 12 BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT ENDURETH TEMPTATION: FOR WHEN HE IS TRIED, HE SHALL RECEIVE THE CROWN OF LIFE, WHICH THE LORD HATH PROMISED TO THEM THAT LOVE HIM.

THIS IS IMPORTANT. WHEN YOU BELIEVE IN OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, YOU WILL OVERCOME AND ENDURE WHEN YOU ARE TRIE. THIS IS BECAUSE HE WILL MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE PERFECT.

VS 13 GOD GOD CAN NOT BE TEMPTED WITH EVIL, NEITHER TEMPTETH HE ANY MAN.
VS 14 DESIRES AND LUSTS ARE AVENUES FOR TEMPTATION. PUT YOUR DESIRES AND WANTS IN CHECK. HOW DO YOU DO THAT. HAND OVER THE KEY TO JESUS CHRIST. THAT IS THE DIFFICULT PART. HAND OVER CONTROL TO JESUS CHRIST. ONCE YOU TAKE THAT DECISION AND TAKE THAT BOLD STEP OF FAITH, HE TAKES OVER . HE NOW DIRECTS YOU GIVING INSTRUCTIONS AND DIRECTIVES. YOUR DUTY IS JUST TO TRUST AND OBEY AND ALL WILL BE WELL. WE ARE MADE TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE PRICE FOR HARD WORK IS MORE WORK. WELL THINK ABOUT THIS. JESUS CHRIST SAID, COME UNTO ME ALL YE WHO ARE BURDEN AND ARE HEAVY LAIDEN AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST. CAST YOUR CARES ONJESUS CHRIST FOR HE CARES. CAST ALL YOUR CARES ON OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST FOR HE CARES FOR YOU.
ONE THING LEADS TO ANOTHER. BE CAREFUL WHENEVER YOU WANT SOMETHIG. ASK SOME SIMPLE QUESTIONS LIKE, CAN I DO WITHOUT THIS? IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE? WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT GET IT? DO I REALLY NEED IT? IS IT THE WILL OF GOD FOR ME AT THIS TIME? THESE QUESTIONS WILL HELP YOU TO PUT YOUR DESIRES IN CHECK AND TEACH YOU CONTENTMENT. GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN. WE CAME TO THIS WORLD WITH NOTHING AND WILL LEAVE WITH NOTHING. OUR SOUL IS VERY PRECIOUS LET US TAKE CARE OF IT BY ACCEPTING JESUS CHRIST TODAY FOR OUR SALVATION.
VS 15 SIN LEADS TO DEATH.
VS 16 DO NOT ERR MY BELOVED BRETHREN

VS 17 EVERY GOOD GIFT AND EVERY PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE AND COMETH DOWN FROM THE FATHER OF LIGHT WITH WHOM IS NO VARIABLENESS, NEITHER SHADOW OF TURNING.
Vs 18 OF HIS OWN WILL BEGAT HE US WITH THE WORD OF TRUTH, THAT WE SHOULD BE A KIND OF FIRSTFRUITS OF HIS CREATURES.

NOTICE HERE THAT IT IS THE WILL OF GOD THAT WE SHOULD BE HIS CHILDREN AND A KIND OF FIRSTFRUIT OF HIS CREATURES. THE WORD OF GOD IS TRUE. WITH HIS WORD HE BEGAT US OF HIS OWN WILL. REMEMBER THAT IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD AND THE WORD WAS WITH GOD AND THE WORD WAS GOD AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US . AGAIN AS MANY AS BELIEVE IN HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON , HE GIVES POWER TO BECOME THE SONS OF GOD.

VS 19 WHEREFORE, MY BELOVED BRETHEREN, LET EVERY MAN BE SWIFT TO HEAR, SLOW TO SPEAK, AND SLOW TO WRATH.

VS 20 FOR THE WRATH OF MAN WORKETH NOT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.

VS 21 WHEREFORE LAY APART ALL FILTHINESS AND SUPERFLUITY OF NAUGHTINESS, AND RECEIVE WITH MEEKNESS THE ENGRAFTED WORD, WHICH IS ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOULS.

THIS IS THE WORD OF GOD.

AS A CHILD OF GOD, LET YOUR WORDS BE FEW. THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK. SPEAK MORE TO GOD THAN TO MAN. REMEMBER THAT THE HEART OF THE KING IS IN THE HAND OF GOD. SPEND MORE TIME WITH GOD. LEARN TO FORM THE HABIT OF SAYING TO GOD FIRST ANY THING YOU WANT TO SAY TO MAN. BY SO DOING, YOU WILL MAKE FEWER MISTAKES IF ANY IN WORD THOUGHT AND DEED. THIS IS BECAUSE GOD ALMIGHTY WILL CORRECT EVERY WORD YOU SAY AND GIVE YOU A GOOD REPLY. AS AN OBEDIENT CHILD WHEN YOU TAKE HEED, YOUR LIFE WILL REFLECT THIS CLOSER WALK WITH GOD. TRY IT TODAY AND GOD WILL BLESS YOU.

LEARN TO LISTEN, ESPECIALLY TO GOD WHEN HE SPEAKS SO THAT YOU WILL GET USED TO HIM AND DIFFERENCIATE HIS WORDS FROM OTHERS. READ THE BIBLE AND PRAY ALWAYS.

DO NOT GET ANGRY. WHEN YOU ARE ANGRY, IT IS EASY TO LOOSE CONTROL. IT IS EASY TO FORGET THE GAME PLAN. IT IS ESAY TO OFFEND GOD. JUST REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE AN AMBERSSADOR OF JESUS CHRIST ON EARTH JUST REPORT THE MATTER TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND LET HIM TAKE CARE OF IT WHILE YOU WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.  AS A CHRISTIAN GOD GIVES YOU SELFCONTROL AND DISCIPLINE.

WHEN YOU ARE ANGRY, YOU CAN NOT PLEASE GOD. WHEN YOU ARE ANGRY, YOU CAN NOT DO GOOD THINGS. WHEN YOU ARE ANGRY YOU CAN NOT BE FOCUSED. BE SOBER AND VIGILANT.

TAKE AWAY ALL FILTHINESS AND SUPERFLUITY OF NAUGHTINESS;

WHEN YOU TAKE THESE AWAY, YOU RECEIVE WITH MEEKNESS THE ENGRAFTED WORD OF GOD, WHICH IS ABLE TO SAVE YOUR SOUL.

YOUR SOUL IS VERY PRECIOUS. TAKE GOOD CARE OF IT. YOU NEED THE WORD OF GOD FOR THIS PURPOSE.

VS  22 BUT BE YE DOERS OF THE WORD, AND NOT HEAERS ONLY, DECEIVING YOUR OWN SELVES.

WHEN WE HEAR THE WORD OF GOD IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE OBEY GOD AND DO THE WORD OF GOD.

DO NOT DECIEVE YOURSELD. GOD IS A GOOD GOD AND GOD IS JUST TOO.

VS 25 WHEN YOU DO THE WORK OF GOD, YOU SHALL BE BLESSED IN YOUR DEED.

VS 26 CHRISTIANS SHOULD CONTROL THEIR TONGUE.

VS 27 PURE RELIGION AND UNDEFILED BEFORE GOD AND THE FATHER IS THIS TO VISIT THE FATHERLESS AND WIDOWS IN THEIR AFFLICTION, AND TO KEEP HIMSELF UNSPOTTED FROM THE WORLD.

A NEW BEGINNING WITH GOD IS A GOOD BEGINNING

A NEW BEGINNING WITH JESUS CHRIST IS A GOOD BEGINNING.

Revelation 22

King James Version (KJV)

22 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

King James Version (KJV)

Genesis 1

King James Version (KJV)

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 2

King James Version (KJV)

2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;

12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.

13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.

14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.

16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Ecclesiastes 12

King James Version (KJV)

12 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

2 While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

4 And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

5 Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

8 Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

9 And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

10 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
